Top 5 best pitchers to not make the all star game this seasonings

Hey y’all how is everyone doing on this fine ass Tuesday. Right now I am coping with the fact that my new york giants have literally the worst offensive line in the history of football by reminding myself that it is september baseball. Meaning that this is the final run of a long grueling MLB season but there is still a lot more to happen. My Yankees are still in a neck and neck race for home field advantage in the one game AL Wild card playoff game with the Oakland Athletics with them being just one game ahead of them. But enough about that I want to talk about MLB pitchers. Specifically the ones who had really good seasons but just fell short on making it to the midsummer classic. So enough chitchat how about we jump right into this. So without further Adieu here are the top 5 best pitchers to not make the all-star game this season

1. Colorado Rockies Starting Pitcher Kyle Freeland: first guy on the list is Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland. Kyle has been in the MLB since last year making his MLB debut on April 7th 2017 for the Rockies. Since then Kyle has put up some pretty modest numbers such as getting a 25-18 record, a 3.47 ERA and 260 strikeouts in his MLB career. This season Kyle has really stepped up in the MLB. This season Kyle has pitched in 30 games with the Rockies and in those 30 games he has gotten a 15-7 record, a 2.96 ERA, a 159 strikeouts and a 1.22 WHIP. Kyle has also gotten 7.83 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched this season along with an 2.48 strikeout to walk ratio and an 21.0 strikeout percentage.

2. Pittsburgh Pirates Starting Pitcher Trevor Williams: Second guy on the list is pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams. Trevor like Kyle is relatively inexperienced in the MLB. First making his MLB debut back in September of 2016. Trevor is in his second full season in the MLB and this current season has definitely been a lot more kind to Trevor then his previous season. For the 2018 season with the Pirates Trevor has gotten a 13-9 record a 3.16 ERA, a 115 strikeouts and an 1.16 WHIP. Trevor has also gotten 6.45 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched, a 2.25 strikeout to walk ratio and an 17.6 strikeout percentage for the 2018 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

3. Milwaukee Brewers Starting Pitcher Jhoulys Chacín: third guy on the list is brewers starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin. Jhoulys is in his tenth season in the MLB making his big league debut in 2009 with the Colorado Rockies. Jhoulys had a pretty solid career in the MLB but has never made it to the all-star game before. But that hasn’t stopped him from doing being a rock solid pitcher this season. For the 2018 season with the Brewers Jhoulys has pitched in 32 games and in those 32 games he has done some pretty impressive stuff. Such as getting a 14-8 record, a 3.54 ERA and a 149 strikeouts. Jhoulys has also gotten 7.53 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched, a 2.26 strikeout to walk ratio and an 20.1 strikeout percentage for the 2018 season with the Milwaukee Brewers.

4. Cleveland Indians Starting Pitcher Carlos Carrasco: Okay second to last guy on this list is Indians Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco. Carlos Is a lot like Jhoulys in the fact that they have both been in the MLB since 2009 and have both never made it to the all-star game. Carlos however has had the more successful career leading the AL in wins last year and pitching an immaculate inning last season as well. This season with the Indians Carlos has pitched in 29 games and has gotten a 16-9 record, a 3.43 ERA, 206 strikeouts and a 1.13 WHIP. Carlos has also gotten 10.53 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched, a 5.72 strikeout to walk ratio and an 28.8 strikeout percentage for the 2018 seasons with the Cleveland Indians.

5. Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Brad Boxberger: Okay last but not least on this list is D-backs reliever Brad Boxberger. Brad is the only reliever on the list. When I usually make an article about pitchers I usually just talk about starting pitchers 99 percent of the time and that just ain’t right. I gotta show the relievers some love. For the 2018 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks Brad has pitched in 57 games and in those games he has done some pretty impressive stuff. Such as getting a 2-7 record, a 4.47 ERA, 32 saves, 69 strikeouts and an 1.39 WHIP. Brad has also gotten 12.34 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched, a 2.39 strikeout to walk ratio and an 31.4 strikeout for the 2018 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
