Honus was probably one of the best players to play in the dead ball era of baseball (the dead ball era was from around 1900-1920 and it was called the dead ball era because of how good the pitching was and how few home runs and runs were being scored.)  Left Fielder Pete Rose Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos 1963-1986: I bet i would put Pete in this article and then he bet $10,000 against me that i wouldn’t put him in. Okay i just couldn’t resist i had to pull in the joke on pete’s gambling addiction which got him banned for life from the MLB and from being inducted into the baseball hall of fame for betting on MLB teams and on the Reds but never against them.

Yup Pete is no questions asked the greatest hitter in MLB history. Pete also had the third longest hitting steak in 1978 from june 14th to august 1st when he hit safely in 44 straight games.

Center Fielder Willie Mays San Francisco Giants/New York Mets 1951-1973: Willie Is probably the most iconic san francisco giants player in history and one of the best living former MLB player of all time. Now what makes Willie so well Known is his catch during game 1 of the 1954 world series against the cleveland indians where he leaped to the warning track and then into the centerfield wall to catch vic wertz fly ball and prevent him from getting the home run. The catch is so amazing and probably not only the best catch in baseball history but of sports history as well.

Willie is also well known for his all star game performances and how he made it to the all star game 20 times during his 22 season career. Willie also  won a world series in 1954 the one where he would have his infamous catch.  Willie was also a 2 time NL MVP and 2 time MLB all star game MVP and Willie also managed to win 12 gold gloves.

Willie would put up a very good batting average with a .302 career batting average and he would also get a .557 career slugging percentage and a .384 career on base percentage and a .941 career on base plus slugging percentage.

Right Fielder Hank Aaron Milwaukee/atlanta Braves and the MIlwaukee Brewers 1954-1976: Hank Aaron aka “hammerin Hank” played 23 seasons in the MLB Starting in 1954 with the milwaukee braves and even playing with them when they moved to atlanta in 1966 and would finish his career once again in 1976 playing with the newly established milwaukee brewers.

Now hank is definitely most known for his home runs having 755 home runs the second most in baseball history right next to barry bonds and breaking babe ruth home run record on april 8th 1974 at the then atlanta braves stadium atlanta-fulton company stadium against the los angeles dodgers.

best NL position players of all time

best american league pitchers of all time

1.  Starting pitcher Cy Young 1890-1911 Cleveland Spiders, ST Louis Perfectos/Cardinals,Boston Americans/Red Sox, Cleveland Naps,Boston Rustlers: CY Young is someone who needs no introduction. He is the babe ruth of pitching CY Young. No one can step to the mound like CY could. Every pitcher strives to be like CY and he is so good that each year they give an award named after him to the best starting pitcher one AL pitcher and NL pitcher.

I mean if you need more convincing on his playing ability lets take a look at some of his stats. CY holds 4 key MLB records. Most MLB win with 511 wins (he had a career 511-316 record) CY also holds the MLB record for most innings pitched with 7,356 innings pitched and the most games started with 815 games and he also has the most complete games as well with 749 complete career games.

CY also pitched a perfect game in 1904 for the boston red sox it was the first perfect game in the modern era of the MLB (1900 and up) and he also pitched three no hitters as well and got a triple crown in 1901. CY overall stats were along with the 511-316 win loss record cy also had a 2.63 career ERA and he even got 2,803 career strikeouts and he only allowed 2,147 earned runs in his career. One really cool thing about cy is he not only was a part of the first world series and was on the winning team the boston red sox he pitched in the first world series game in baseball history.

2.  Starting pitcher Walter Johnson Washington Senators 1907-1927: Another old time classic walter johnson. Walter played his whole career with the washington senators.21 years to be exact and during that time walter dominated on the pitcher’s mound. Walter has the MLB record for shutouts with 110 shutout games pitched. Another cool thing about walter is that he won the triple crown 3 times and won the AL MVP twice as well.

Walter has the second wins in baseball history right next to the aforementioned CY Young with 417 wins. Walter had a 417-279 win loss record. Walter also had an astonishing 2.17 career era only allowing 1,424 earned runs in his career and he also has the 9th most strikeouts in baseball history with 3,509 strikeouts.

Walter even allowed 5.3 strikeouts for every 9 innings pitched and only allowed 0.1 home runs per every 9 innings pitched as well and there might not have been many cars out when walter was pitching but that didn’t stop him from having a 1.061 WHIP the 9th best all time

3.  Starting Pitcher Roger Clemens 1984-2007 Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays,New York Yankees and the Houston Astros: Okay i love roger but you have to admit he did screw himself over royally i mean the dude would take out other batters and not strike them out but intentionally throw a ball at their head. He hit his own future teammate alex rodriguez in the 2000 alcs when alex was playing with the seattle mariners and most famously in the 2000 world series when he infamously threw a pitch at mike piazza and broke his bat and then threw part of the broken bat at mike piazza while he was running to first base.

And the controversies didn’t end there. There were steroid controversies and even controversies over racist remarks made towards asians. Clemens knew how to piss people off. But roger was at least a good player he was an 11 time star during his 24 year career. He also a 7 time CY Young award winner and a 2 time triple crown winner. Roger was also a 4 time MLB wins leader and a 7 time ERA leader. And he doesn’t even stop there he also was a 1986 AL MVP and won two world series rings one in 1999 and one in 2000 both with the yankees. Now lets take a look at Roger career stats.

He has the 9th most wins by any pitcher in baseball history with 354 wins giving him a total 354-184 record. Roger most impressive career feat would probably be his MLB career strikeouts having 4,672 career strikeouts the third most in MLB history. Roger other career stats would be a 3.12 career ERA. Allowing only 1707 career earned runs. Roger even got 46 shutouts in his career. Roger managed to maintain a pretty impressive whip as well with a 1.17 WHIP and he also got 8.6 strikeouts per every 9 innings and he only allowed 0.7 home runs per every 9 innings pitched and only 7.7 hits per every 9 innings pitched.

4. Relief Pitcher Dennis Eckersley 1975-1998 Cleveland Indians,Boston Red Sox,Chicago Cubs,Oakland Athletics and St Louis Cardinals: Dennis is famous for two things his porn star mustache and his fastball. Dennis is a hall of famer and current red sox studio analyst for NESN (New England Sports Network) Dennis played 24 seasons in the MLB starting with the cleveland indians in 1975 and ending with the boston red sox in 1998.

Dennis has played in both the AL and the NL. Dennis played in the AL for 20 years with the Cleveland Indians,Boston Red Sox,Oakland Athletics and the NL for 5 years playing with the St Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. Now Dennis would not become a relief pitcher until 1987 his 12th MLB season when he first started playing with oakland athletics at the age of 32. Now before Dennis became a reliever he got a 151-128 win loss record and 1627 strikeouts.  Now as a relief pitcher dennis got the 75h most saves of all time with 390 career saves.

Dennis would retire after 1998 at the age of 43 after 24 MLB seasons and would go into the hall of fame in 2004 six years after he retired and would get a 83.2% ballot vote

5.  Relief Pitcher Rollie Fingers 1968-1985 Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers: Okay i know what youre thinking just when you thought mustaches couldn’t get any better i go out and then show you the legendary handlebar mustache of Rollie fingers a mustache so great it makes Sam Elliott and Tom Selleck mustaches look like the mustaches of some pre pubescent 13 year old kid. But let’s not gaze at his mustache let’s also focus on his career as well.

Rollie fingers started his career with the Athletics and spent the vast bulk of his career with them playing 9 seasons with the Athletics from 1968-1976 and then playing 4 seasons with the padres from 1977-1980 and then finished his career of with the brewers playing wit the padres from 1981-1985.Rollie managed to during his MLB career he made it to the all star game 7 times and won the world series 3 times was even a world series MVP in 1974 and was an AL MVP in 1981 and won the CY Young award that year as well.

6.  Closer Mariano Rivera 1995-2013 New York Yankees: Okay i usually dont show photos of players without their face showing but it’s not because Mariano Rivera is hideously ugly or anything like that but any yankees fans know there is nothing better than hearing Sandman come on and seeing Marano run out of the bullpen. Marano is a one of a kind player he is the greatest baseball closer of all time no doubt or any questions about it. He is also the last MLB player to wear the number 42 jackie robinson number he was grandfathered in because when it was retired throughout all of baseball in 1997 he was the last active MLB player wearing that number at the time.

Mariano would play 19 seasons in the MLB. Quick fun fact for all of you the last player to relieve Mariano Rivera was a pitcher called matt daley who played with the yankees in 2013 and 2014 and he grew up in my hometown (Garden City New York in Nassau County Long Island) and graduated from my high school as well (Garden City high school). Anyway back to Mariano during his 19 MLB seasons he would make it to the all star game 13 times and win the world series 5 times and be named world series MVP in 1999 he was also the 2003 ALCS MVP as well. Mariano has the most saves in MLB history with 652 saves.

Mariano also has the 13th best ERA of all time with a 2.21 career ERA.  Marino also only allowed 315 earned runs. Lou was the 9th yankees captain out of the 15 yankees captains of all time and probably the most famous yankee captain right next to Derek Jeter.  Lou was born in 1903 in yorkville manhattan the son of two german immigrants. Lou had a sad life having to lose all three of his siblings growing up all of them who died at a very young age of common and rampant diseases of that time. 4.  shortstop Cal Ripken Jr Baltimore orioles 1981-2001: Okay a lot of you are probably wondering why i didn’t pick jeter. Well its not that i dont love jeter however i view ripken as probably the best shortstop right next to honus wagner and for several reasons. reason 1 is cal currently has the record for most consecutive games by an MLB player with 2632 games.  Cal also is an 8 time silver slugger winner and a 19 time MLB all star and even a 2 time MLB gold glove winner so he is definitely an accomplished MLB player.

But Cal also has some pretty good stats. In his 21 year MLB career he managed to get 431 home runs,3184 hits,1647 runs and 5168 total bases. Cal also got a whooping .276 career batting average, a .34o career on base percentage, a .447 slugging percentage and a .788 on base plus slugging percentage.

Interesting fact about ted he used to go fishing in the exact lake in maine that i have a summer home by. Ted began his career in 1939 and would play for 3 more seasons with the red sox until 1943 when he was drafted to serve in the military and was commissioned a US Marine Naval pilot officer.

Ted career batting average and slugging percentage are b0th spectacular with him having a .344 career batting average and a .634 slugging percentage (the second best slugging percentage of all time next to babe ruth) Ted also has the highest on base percentage in MLB history with a .482 on base percentage and ted also holds the second best on base plus slugging percentage of all time as well with a 1.116 career on base plus slugging percentage

7. Center Fielder Ty Cobb Detroit Tigers/Philadelphia Athletics 1905-1928: Ty Cobb one of baseballs best players and of the worst people on earth at the time he played. Ty had a very short temper and would often get into fights and even assaulted a handicap person. Ty was a bit of a racist and probably made the most angry trump supporter look like a modern day social justice warrior.

Ty had at one point assaulted a black groundskeeper who tried to shake his hand and had a long time bitter rivalry with teammate and hall of famer Sam crawford. Ty is most known for his hitting ability having a .366 career batting average the highest career batting average of all time. Ty also has the second most career hits of all time with 4,189 career hits. Ty also has the 8th most RBIS of all time with 1,933 career RBIS.

Ty was spectacular when it came to getting runs getting the second most runs of all time with 2,244 career runs.Ty is also probably the best base runner in history right next to Rickey henderson having 724 career doubled the 4th most in baseball history and the 2nd most career triples in baseball history with 295 career triples and he even has the 4th most career stolen bases of all time with 897 career stolen bases.

He has a total of 5,854 career total bases the 5th most of all time. Ty was also able to manage to get the 9th highest on base percentage in baseball with a .433 career on base percentage. Ty also managed to get several very distinguished awards such as The triple crown in 1909 and the Al MVP in 1911.

Ty was inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1936 his first year on the ballot and Got a 98.2% ballot vote. Another interesting thing about ry was that he served in world war 1 in the newly eatables chemical warfare corps he also served under famous baseball manager branch Rickey who managed the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers and signed Jackie Robinson and helped break the baseball color barrier and also not only did he serve under branch Rickey branch also who was one of his commanding majors in his units branch also promoted ty to the rank of captain

8.  Right Fielder Babe Ruth Boston Red Sox,New York Yankees and Boston Braves 1914-1935: Okay you Know you couldn’t have a list of the best AL position players of all time without Babe ruth. I mean he is Babe Ruth the great bambino,The sultan of swat, the caliph of clout babe ruth. Babe Is easily without a doubt the most globally recognized baseball player of all time and the most famous and greatest baseball player of all time. One thing people dont know about ruth is that he was also an amazing pitcher as well. He pitched in a total of a 163 games the majority of them were with the red sox from 1914 to 1919 and he would get a 94-46 career record and a 2.28 ERA. Along with 488 strikeouts and 17 shutouts.

Now back to Babe hitting stats he got 714 home runs the most home runs in the MLB until april 8th 1974 when hank aaron beat it. Babe would also get 2873 hits. Babe would also get the second most RBIS of all time with 2214 rbis and the 4th most runs of all time with 2174 runs. Babe also has the 7th most total bases of all time 5793 total bases. Babe also managed to get the 9th highest batting average of all time with a .342 career batting average and the highest slugging percentage of all time with a .690 slugging percentage and the second highest on base percentage of all time with a .474 on base percentage

Babe would also get 7 world series rings and would play in the first two all star games ever in 1933 and 1934 and would even be named AL MVP in 1923.

9.  Designated Hitter Edgar Martinez Seattle Mariners 1987-2004: Edger is not the greatest player but easily the best designated hitter of all time. Edger started playing for the mariners in 1987 at the age of 24 and in 1995 at the age of 32 he would become a full time designated hitter. Edgar is the only designated hitter in baseball to win a batting title winning it in 1995 with a .325 batting average. Edgar would get 309 career home runs,2247 hits, 1219 runs,1261 rbis and 3718 total bases. Edgar would also get a career .312 batting average,  a career .515 slugging percentage, a .418 career on base percentage and a .933 career on base plus slugging percentage. Edgar would also make it to the all star game 7 times in his career and win the silver slugger award 5 times.

The best american league position players of all time

top 10 best things to happen in the first half of the 2016 MLB season

Okay the second half of the 2016 MLB season has just begun and i thought i would point out the most important events in the first half of the 2016 MLB season so without further adieu here are the top 10 best things to happen in the first half of the 2016 MLB season

1.  Trevor Story made quite a story in the 2016 opening week. Trevor has quite a history with the rockies starting in 2011 when he was drafted in the first round of the 2011 draft by the colorado rockies. Trevor played in the rockies farm system from 2011 to 2015. It wasn’t until 2016 when rockies shortstop Jose Reyes got suspended from the rockies for domestic violence charges in february of 2016. Trevor would go on to compete with Cristhian Adames in the 2016 spring training for opening day the opening day roster and eventually won.

Trevor had a spectacular opening week on the rockies opening day trevor first MLB game he got two home runs off zack greinke against the arizona diamondbacks.  Trevor became the sixth player in MLB history two hit two home runs in his first major league game. Trevor is also the first player to do that on opening day. In the first 4 games of the 2016 regular season Trevor got a home run for each game and by his 4th game had gotten 6 home runs. After that Trevor became the first MLB player to hit a home run in each of his first 4 MLB games.

2.  The san Diego Padres had a not so hot start: the san diego padres got shutout 15-0 against the los angeles dodgers making it the worst opening day shutout in MLB history. The padres would get shoutout in there next two games making them the first team in MLB history to get shoutout in there first 3 games of the season.

3.   Jake Arrieta managed to get less hits than i did at every little league game: In other words Jake got a no hitter on april 21st against the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati at great american ball park. Jake managed to throw a 119 pitches 71 of them were strikeouts and only walked four batters.  The Cubs would beat the cincinnati reds that day 16-0. The cubs 16-0 shutout would be the most runs scored by the winning team of the no hitter

4.   Bryce Harper got his 100th home run and celebrated like the narcist he is: on april 14th Bryce Harper got his first career grand slam and his 100th career home run against the Atlanta Braves on april 14th at nationals park in washington dc against braves starting pitcher julio tehran

5.  Jose Bautista and Rougned Odor had a better fight than most ufc fights: On may 15th 2016 at globe life park in arlington texas the Toronto Blue Jays faced up against the texas rangers where Jose had his infamous bat flip in game 5 of the 2015 ALDS against the texas rangers where jose bautista got the ALDS wining run in the bottom of the 7th inning against rangers relief pitcher Sam Dyson after the home run jose would do his infamous bat flip where he would throw his bat up in the air like a boss http://makeagif.com/i/Y6ADAu.

Anyway Jose would make an illegal slide that game into rougned odor landing right into him out of anger Rougned Odor punched him right in the face it was a clean punch and some believe retaliation for jose arrogant bat flip. Rougned would get an 8 game suspension and manage to get an appeal and get out after 7 games and jose was suspended for one game for his involvement in the incident

6.  Two of baseball greatest switch hitters off all time (and two of my favorite yankees) got into a home run chase: In may of the 2016 season Carlos Beltran and Mark Teixeira both legendary switch hitters and new york yankees teammates got into a classic home run chase on who could get to 400 home runs first.

Now this was not a 1961 Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle home run chase but this was pretty significant since both of them were switch hitters and before them there were only three other switch hitters in MLB history to get to 400 home runs and those players were mickey mantle, Eddie Murray and Chipper Jones so they were all in good company

Now carlos would reach this before mark getting his 400th home run on may 15th against the Chicago White sox would mainly because of the fact that marks constant injuries would always hold him back.  Mark would eventually get his 400th home run on july 3rd against the san diego padres.

7.   The Minnesota Twins and The Atlanta Braves would get into a worst series and basically see which team sucks more: okay right now currently the Minnesota twins and the atlanta braves are both in last places in there division the AL and the NL. Currently the atlanta braves are winning at losing right now having a 31-60 record the worst record in baseball but the minnesota twins are not far behind with a 32-57 record.

8.  The Chicago Cubs became the best team in baseball: Yes right now the chicago cubs are the best team in baseball well technically they are one game behind the nationals and two games behind the giants but it looks as if they are the best team in baseball with a 55-35 record and they entered into each month so far in the regular season with the best record in baseball.

And every single one of there starting infilders made it to the NL starting roster for the all star game and have been predicted to make it to the world series this year by several sources http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/17082168/chicago-cubs-remain-big-favorites-win-world-series-multiple-las-vegas-sportsbooks http://www.outsidepitchmlb.com/chicago-cubs-second-half/50099

9.  Eric Hosmer owns the all star game: Eric hosmer was quite an all star in the 2016 all star game. He managed to get a home run and the first run for the american league when he got a home run in the bottom of the second inning and tie the game.

10.  Big Papi is having a big farewell season:  David ortiz is in his 20th MLB season and his last MLB season. I mean david right now has 22 home runs, 98 hits, 72 RBIS, 42 runs, 200 total bases, a .331 batting average, a .676 slugging percentage and a .424 on base percentage

top 10 best things to happen in the first half of the 2016 MLB season

2016 all star game predictions who will win AL or NL

okay it is that time again. Yes the 2016 all star game is upon us. We are now at the halfway point of the MLB season and a lot has happened. Jackie bradley jr got a 29 game hitting streak and jake arrieta pitched a perfect game and the indians got a 14 game winning streak and people uttered a phrase that no one thought anyone would ever say. I think the cubs might win the world series this year. Yup baseball has been pretty good so far but lets take a look at the 2016 all star game now and let me break down who i think will win. So without further adieu here is my prediction on who will win the 2016 all star game

round 1 starting lineup: for american league there 9 player starting lineup consists of 1. 2B Jose Altuve Astros 2. CF Mike Trout Angeles 3. 3B Manny Machado Orioles 4. DH David Ortiz Red Sox 5. SS Xander Bogaerts Red Sox 6. 1B Eric Hosmer Royals 7. RF Mookie Betts Red Sox  8. C Salvador Perez Royals 9. LF Jackie bradley Jr Red Sox

and for the national league there 9 player starting lineup includes 1. 2B Ben Zobrist Cubs 2. RF Bryce Harper Nationals  3. 3B Kris Bryant Cubs 4. DH Wil Myers Padres  5. C Buster Posey Giants 6. 1B Anthony Rizzo Cubs 7. CF Marcell Ozuna Marlins 8. LF Carlos Gonzalez Rockies  9. SS Addison Russell Cubs.

let me review the each player in the american league lineup

1.  Jose Altuve: Jose is without a doubt probably the best hitter in baseball right now and the perfect leadoff man for youre starting lineup. I mean he has the most hits in baseball with a 119 hits and the second best batting average in baseball with a .341 batting average. He also has a .413 on base percentage and he also has a pretty good slugging percentage boosting a .542 slugging percentage. So Jose is definitely a solid pick for lead off man in the AL lineup

2.   Mike Trout: Mike has been named all star game mvp for the previous two all star games making him the first player to ever win it in consecutive years maybe he will go for a three peat this all star game. I mean he is pretty damn good. Currently he has the second best on base percentage in the MLB right now with a .425 on base percentage.  Mike also has a pretty good .567 on slugging percentage and an even better .991 on base plus slugging percentage. Mike even has the 5th most runs in the mlb right now with 68 runs and he has 15 stolen bases as well so for the second guy in the lineup he is a great choice and if history repeats itself he might help the AL get the win again

3.  Manny Machado: Manny is right now in his 5 year in the MLB and is already going to make his 3rd all star game appearance. Manny has 19 home runs this season and a 109 hits. He also has 53 RBIS and 62 runs. Manny has a 195 total bases the 7th most in baseball and he has the second most doubles in baseball with 29 doubles. So manny biggest strength here is getting on base and hopefully he can use some of that skill to help him the AL win the all star game this year.

4.  David Ortiz: God i am going to miss big papi. I know as a yankees fan i am not supposed to say i am going to miss a red sox player but just like jeter whether you were a red sox fan or not you gotta respect him and same goes with David Ortiz especially since this is his last all star game and his last season and what better way to celebrate a farewell season than not only making it to the all star game but being in the starting lineup.

David is having a superb year right now so far he has 22 home runs,19 hits,72 RBIS (the second most in baseball right now) and 42 runs. David right now has the 4th highest batting average in the MLB with a .332 batting average, the highest slugging percentage in the MLB with a .682 slugging percentage and the highest on base percentage in the MLb with a .426 on base percentage so i think david will have a good farewell with the all star game this year

5.  Xander Bogaerts: Xander is going to his first all star game this year and he is in the starting lineup so he is having a pretty good year. Xander is currently tied with other red sox teammate and current all star game teammate mookie betts with second most hits in the MLB with a 117 hits and Xander has right now the 6th best batting average in the MLB with a .329 batting average xander also has the 7th most runs in baseball with 65 runs. Xander even has a pretty high on base percentage with a .388 on base percentage. I hope Xander has a first time good all star game appearance tonight.

6.  Eric Hosmer:  Eric right now is definitely not the best guy on this list. Eric right now only has 13 home runs, a 100 hits,45 runs, 49 RBIS. Eric has a pretty decent .299 batting average and an alright .476 slugging percentage and a .355 on base percentage

7.  Mookie Betts: Mookie is now the third red sox on the starting lineup and just like Bogaerts this is also his first all star game appearance as well. Now just like Bogaerts he also has a 117 hits and is currently at second most hits in baseball and Mookie has the second most runs in baseball as well with 75 runs and he even has 59 RBIS. Mookie also has a pretty descent amount of home runs with 18 home runs and his amount of total bases this season is very impressive with 202 total bases tying him at first with robinson cano and mark trumbo. Mookie also has a .304 batting average and he has a stellar .344 on base percentage. I like Mookie a lot and really hope he just like Bogaerts does well this all star game

8.  Salvador Perez: Salvador is coming off a strong 2015 season i mean last year he didn’t only make it the all star game but he won a world series and was named world series MVP. So i think it is safe to say he is coming off cloud 9 or maybe he is still on it with the whole making it to the all star game and making it to the starting lineup. Now salvador right now has 14 home runs,82 hits,36 runs,41 RBIS and a 145 total bases. he also has a .283 batting average, a .318 on base percentage, a .500 slugging percentage and a .818 on base plus slugging percentage and he is leading catchers in all offensive stats.

9.  Jackie Bradley Jr: Jackie is now the 4th red sox on the starting lineup making it about a half red sox starting lineup. Jackie had quite a hot streak earlier back in the season from april 24th to may 25th where he hit safely in 29 games. Jackie isn’t the best player but he has had a surge in popularity with the 29 game hitting streak this season. this season he currently has a .548 slugging percentage, a .296 batting average, a .926 on base plus slugging percentage and a .378 on base percentage. Jackie has 55 rbis right now and 89 hits ( you would expect more due to his 29 game hitting streak but his hitting ability definitely dipped after that) 14 hone runs, 22 doubles, 6 triples and a 165 total bases. Hopefully he relive some of his april 24th to may 25th playing ability magic for this all star game

My review for the national league 9 player starting lineup

1.  Ben Zobrist: Ben is in his first season with the cubs after going from the royals last season to the cubs this season. Now Ben is doing pretty good right now but not that great and to be fair i dont know how he is the leadoff hitter in the lineup and daniel murphy is not even in the staring lineup but that’s not my fault since i didn’t get to pick the line up although i did vote quite a bit but the all star game is a completely democratic voting system in america and it is the one thing that makes me hate democracy.

but its time to focus on ben. Ben is right now boosting just 13 home runs, 86 hits,59 runs and 47 RBIS. Ben’s best stat is his on base percentage having a .388 on base percentage. So ben in all honesty isn’t anything special and i dont have to high hopes for him

2.  Bryce Harper: Okay bryce is not playing to his best potential but he is still bryce harper and he is just like pizza as in when its good its amazing and when its bad its still pretty good bryce harper is the same as in even in his slumps he is still pretty much better than 95% of all active MLB players.  Bryce is still a power home run hitter as in he has 19 home runs right now.  his 74 hits is nothing to run to the hills and shout about but it is still very good, he also has 50 runs, 52 rbis and a 142 total bases.

Bryce batting percentage is nothing for him to be proud of with it only being .256 but at least his on base percentage is where it should be in terms of harper terms with it being .399. Now while i love bryce always have and always will i hope he can get his mojo back because 20 years from now i hope to see him being inducted to the baseball hall of fame and i hope he will play good enough that cooperstown will have a home for him.

3.  Kris Bryant: Kris is in his sophomore year in the MLB and so far the sophomore slump hasn’t affected him to much as he is in the NL starting lineup in the all star game this is kris second all star game and he is coming off from winning NL rookie of the year last year. Kris is leading all national league MLB players with home runs having 25 home runs this season. Kris also has 94 hits and 65 RBIS the sixth most in baseball and the third most runs in the MLB with 73 runs. Kris also has a .286 batting average and a .578 slugging percentage which is the 8th best in the MLB and the 18th best on base percentage in the MLB with a .384 on base percentage. Kris on base plus slugging percentage is so good its at .962 the 8th best in the MLB

4.  Wil Myers:  Another first year MLB all star. Wil is in his 4th MLB season and is by far having his best mlb season right now. Wil has reached an all time high for himself for home runs with 19 so far this season. WIl has 97 hits right now along with 60 rbis and 61 runs. Wil also has 177 total bases right now and a .355 on base percentage and a .522 slugging percentage. Wil is really having quite a breakout season right now and i think he is really going to make a name for himself and go far in his career.

5.  Buster Posey:  Buster is probably my favorite MLB catcher at the moment and i have relied on him for fantasy baseball several times lol.  Buster was at an all time high during the 2012 season when he got 24 home runs, a 178 hits, a 103 RBIS, 78 runs and 291 total bases. Along with a .336 batting average, a .408 on base percentage, a .549 slugging percentage and .957 on base plus slugging percentage all season high stats.

Buster at the moment is definitely not having a 2012 caliber season but he is still having a pretty good season. Right now he has 11 home runs,85 hits,52 runs,42 rbis and a 139 total bases. Buster also has a .292 batting average, a .366 on base percentage, a .478 slugging percentage and a .843 on base plus slugging percentage. I hope buster can do well for this years all star game.

6.  Anthony Rizzo:  Anthony is going into his third all star game this year and so far has had a pretty good year as the cubs starting first baseman. Anthony right now has 21 home runs which ties him at 12 place for most home runs in the MLB with 3 other players. Anthony also has 92 hits this season along with 63 RBIS and 54 runs. Anthony can also hit with his .299 batting average and .591 slugging percentage. And he also can get on base currently having a 182 total bases and a .416 on base percentage and also he has an amazing 1.006 on base plus slugging percentage.  I have a good feeling about anthony and i hope he does well during todays all star game.

7.  Marcell Ozuna: Marcell right now is in his 4th MLB season and this is is his first all star game. Marcell currently has 17 home runs, 47 RBIS,99 hits,52 runs and a 172 total bases. Marcell also has a .307 batting average this season and a .533 slugging percentage as well as a .360 on base percentage and a .892 on base plus slugging percentage and looks ready to do well for the all star game

8.  Carlos gonzalez: Last year carlos had a career high 40 home runs and looks as if he will definitely get at least 30 this season. Carlos right now has 19 home runs and a 107 hits which puts him at the 9th most hits in baseball. Carlos also has the 19th most runs in baseball with 58 runs. He also has 54 RBIS and he has a 187 total bases the 11th most in baseball. Carlos also has a .318 batting average, a .557 slugging percentage, a .367 on base percentage and a .924 on base plus slugging percentage.

9.  Addison Russell: Addison is the 4th cub to make this list. So just like the red sox having 4 this years all star game as someone else put it on a meme i saw is the 2016 all star game the boston red sox vs the chicago cubs.  Addison is right now has 11 home runs, 69 hits, 51 RBIS, 36 runs and a 117 total bases. Addison batting averages isn’t spectacular either with him boasting a .237 batting average, a .402 slugging percentage, a .329 on base percentage and a .731 on base plus slugging percentage. AS you can tell addison isn’t that great but he is popular so he got on by a technicality

American League Pitching

Chris Sale: Chris is the american league starting pitcher. Chris right now is going into his 5th all star game of his 7 year career. Chris has the most wins in baseball with 14 wins currently having a 14-3 record. chris also has a 123 strikeouts and a 3.38 ERA. Chris has pitched a total of 125 innings this season and has allowed 47 earned runs. Chris also boasts a 1.04 WHIP and he also boats a .824 win percentage. Chris even averages 8.86 strikeouts per every 9 innings pitched. i think chris can definitely help the american league on the mound this year

National league Pitching

Johnny Cueto: The national league starter Johnny Cueto currently has the second most wins in baseball with 13 wins having a 13-1 record. Johnny also has a 2.47 ERA. Johnny also has a 115 strikeouts and 36 earned runs. Johnny has the 6th best WHIP in baseball with a 1.00 WHIP. Johnny has also pitched a 131 innings this season and has started in 18 games this season as well. Johnny also has a .929 win-loss percentage and averages 7.9 strikeouts per 9 innings so i think it is safe to say he is a good pitcher for the national league

Winner

My prediction for winner will have to be the american league with there better hitting

2016 all star game predictions who will win AL or NL

its the final countdown!!! less than 24 hours to decide who to send to the all star game for both american league and national league

Alright in less than 24 hours the final voting for the 2016 all star game will be done and there are 5 candidates for each league and i have chosen the 3 best out of my personal opinion on who should be in the all star game personally i would like to see  #captaincanada for the AL make the team but however i would like the NL to have a little #storytime for there all star team roster. So without further adieu here are my top 3 choices for each league to make the final cut for the all star game.

AL choice 1 Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria: Evan is in his 9th MLB season right now and has made the all star team 3 times in is 9 year career his most recent all star game appearance was l6 yeas ago in 2010. evan hit sort of a bump in the road his last six seasons with him not being able to make the team but i think he should be given a shot this year and here is why.

Evan has the third most home runs out of any AL third baseman with 18 home runs. Evan also has the 4th most hits out of any AL third baseman with 92 hits and the 4th most runs out of any AL third baseamn with 46 runs.  Evan does somewhat lack in RBIS being 7th on the list for most by a AL third baseman with 45 RBIS but he does have the second most total bases of any AL third baseman right next to Josh Donaldson with a 169 total bases

When it comes to adams batting percentage he has the 5th best out of all AL third baseman with a .280 batting average, he also has the 4th best slugging percentage out of al third baseman with a .514 slugging percentage.  While he may be lacking in on base percentage with it being only .330 his .843 on base plus slugging percentage makes up for it and i think evan would be a good choice to make for the final all star game ballot vote.

AL Choice 2 Toronto Blue Jays Left Fielder Micheal Saunders : Micheal Saunders is pretty good EH. he is probably the best canadian born player in the MLB right next to Russell Martin (both play on the only canadian team in the MLB the blue jays) Micheal has played in the MLB since 2009 starting off with the Mariners from 2009 to 2014 and for the last two seasons has been playing in Toronto. Micheal is quite the player and has represented canada in both the olympics and the baseball world classic (olympics in 2008 in Beijing and world baseball classic in 2013)

Micheal has never made it to the all star game in his 8 years in the MLB. But this season he deserves a chance. Micheal right now has the second most home runs out of of AL left fielder with 16 home runs, michael also has the most hits out of any AL left fielder with 86 hits and the second most runs out of any AL left fielder with 46 runs. michael also has the third most RBIS out of any AL left fielder with 40 RBIS and michael has the most total bases out of any AL left fielder this season with a 162 total bases

Now here is my hook line sinker to get you to vote for michael. He leads all AL left fielders this season in not just batting average but slugging percentage, on base percentage and on base plus slugging percentage with a .296 batting average, a .369 on base percentage, a .557 slugging percentage and a .926 on base plus slugging percentage. So i think it is safe to say that you should give michael a chance.

AL Choice 3 Detroit Tigers Second Baseman Ian kinsler: Ian right now is hoping to get selected to the all star game for the 5th time in his career. His last selection was two years ago in 2014. Ian has played 11 seasons in the MLB 8 for the Texas Rangers (from 2006 to 2013) and 3 for his current team the Detroit Tigers (2014 to 2016). Ian has been a member of the 30-30 club twice in his 11 year MLB career once in 2009 and once in 2011. Now being a AL second baseman Ian has stiff competition with Jose Altuve and Robinson Cano. But Ian is definitely worth a vote and here is why

Scoring: Ian currently is leading all AL second baseman in runs with 71 runs. Ian is currently in second place with Rougned Odor in home runs by a AL second baseman with 16 and he currently has the second most rbis out of any AL second baseman with 52 RBIS.

Hitting: Ian Kinsler currently has the 4th most hits out of any AL second baseman with a 100 hits (that’s a lot considering how he has Jose altuve and robinson cano who are both second baseman in the AL) he also has the batting average out of any AL second baseman this season with a .293 batting average and the 4th highest slugging percentage as well with a .496 slugging percentage.

Baserunning: Ian currently has the third most total bases out of any AL third baseman this season with a 169 total bases. Ian also has a .352 on base percentage and a .848 on base plus slugging percentage

Final Thoughts:  Give Ian a vote. Right now he has good numbers and if Jose Altuve and Robinson Cano weren’t second baseman in the AL ian would definitely be the AL second baseman starter for the all star game.

NL Choice 1 Colorado Rockies Shortstop Trevor Story: Ready for a #storytime. Trevor is Not a NL starter in the 2016 all star game and that pisses me off to know end. I mean he has had such an historic rookie season. In his debut game on april 4th MLB opening day he hit not one but two home runs off zack greinke.

And he also became the sixth player in MLB history to get two home runs in there first MLB game. Trevor got another home run his next mlb game and another the next game and the next game becoming the first MLB player to hit a home run in each of his first 4 games and the first MLB player to get 6 home runs in the first 4 games of a season.

Trevor has been doing pretty well right now and the fact that they choose addison russell over him at starting NL shortstop for the all star game annoys the absolute hell out of me. i mean trevor right now has 19 home runs the most out of any NL shortstop and the second most RBIS out of any NL shortstop with 51 RBIS. Trevor is tied with Jordy Mercer at 7th place for most hits out of a NL shortstop with 78 hits. Trevor also has a not so good .257 batting average but a superb .530 slugging percentage.

Trevor is currently a good base runner having the 4th most runs out of any NL shortstop with 47 runs.  Trevor also has 5 stolen bases and 4 triples and the second most total bases right next to corey seager with a 161 total bases out of any NL shortstop. Trevor also has a .324 on base percentage and a .854 on base plus slugging percentage.

I mean he has had such a good season so far and i think that the all star game deserves a nice #storytime in it

NL choice 2 Arizona diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb: Okay the diamondbacks want to send jake lamb to the all star game so badly they made a hilarious parody mocking the whole jake from state farm commercial. I will post the link down below. Okay right now Jake is definitely someone you want to send to the all star game he is really having a breakout year right now. He has 20 home runs already the third most out of any NL third baseman right next to Kris Bryant and Nolan Arenado. Jake is a player i think that should not only be in the all star game but he also has the ability to be a starter as well.

I mean right next to the 20 home runs he also has 82 hits the 5th most out of any NL third baseman this season and he also has 61 rbis this season the third most out of any NL third baseman. And he has a superb .293 batting average and a phenomenal .625 slugging percentage.

Jake also can get on base i mean so far he has gotten to third base the most out of any NL third baseman with 7 triples and he has 19 doubles and 3 stolen bases, 48 runs and a 175 total bases. Jake also has a .371 on base percentage and a NL third base leading .996 on base plus slugging percentage.

So i think we are all pretty confident in jakes playing ability so if everone could be a lamb and vote for jake lamb (pun very much intended) also if i cant convince you to vote then this will  http://www.abc15.com/sports/sports-blogs-local/watch-arizona-diamondbacks-spoof-jake-from-state-farm-ad-to-help-jake-lamb-get-to-all-star-game also he got endorsed by an actual lamb http://sports.yahoo.com/news/jake-lambs-final-vote-candidacy-gets-endorsement-from-actual-lamb-005439053.html . How many players have non humans endorse them and believe me if a goat could prevent the cubs from winning the series fora 108 years so far then i think an animal can help with a players playing ability.

NL Choice 3 Milwaukee brewers left fielder Ryan Braun: Ryan has played the longest out of any player here having played 10 straight seasons with the brewers since 2010 and has made it to the all star game the most out of any of the guys here a whooping 6 all star game appearances. His most recent one was last year actually. Ryan is having a pretty good year so far but since him having to compete with some pretty good competition for outfielders in the NL such as Bryce Harper, Yoenis Cespedes and Dexter Fowler the competition has been steep.

But i think he might have a chance. I mean he has 13 home runs and is tied with melvin upton JR and Yasmany Tomas at third place for most home runs by a NL left fielder. Ryan also has currently this season 87 hits and only christian Yelich and Starling Marte are ahead of him in hits by a NL left fielder. Ryan is once again in third place out of NL third baseman this time with rbis with him having 44 RBIS. Ryan has a descent amount of runs with 35 runs this season.

Ryan can even get on base pretty well and has gotten 6 stolen bases,  1 triple, 16 doubles and a 144 total bases.  Ryan right now is an incredible batter and has the best batting average out of any NL left fielder with a .322 batting average and he also has the second best slugging percentage out of any NL left fielder right next to Adam Duvall with a .533 slugging percentage.

Ryan is once again second best this time with on base percentage with his .378 on base percentage trailing Christian Yelich .392 on base percentage but ryan does one up christian in on base plus slugging percentage with him being number 1 out of NL left fielders with a .912 on base plus slugging percentage and christians being .859

Now truth be heard Ryan might be statistically wise the worst guy on this list but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give him a shot and i think if he does get chosen he could do well so if you are feeling risky or vote for him because you can vote like 35 times in one day so maybe out of those 35 votes maybe give ryan 1

its the final countdown!!! less than 24 hours to decide who to send to the all star game for both american league and national league
