The perfect national league all star team starting roster

Okay around four days ago i wrote who i believed would be the perfect american league all star team starting roster for the upcoming all star game and then i realized that the national league is LIT this year i mean i never thought in a million years that the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals would be the most savage teams in baseball. so without further adieu here is my perfect national league starting roster for the all star game

Starting Pitcher Jake Arrieta Chicago Cubs: there are two people most men cant score with Kate Upton and Jake Arrieta. Yes this year it looks like we will have a little subway series Pitchers dual between crosstown rivals Chicago White Sox star pitcher Chris Sale and Chicago Cubs star pitcher Jake Arrieta.

Jake has only started being good in 2015 and so far he has a CY Young, the title of the 2015 MLB regular season wins leader and two no hitters and he is no doubt making it to the all star game. i think it is safe to say that Jake is definitely making up for his bad first 5 MLB seasons.

Anyway lets look at Jake’s season stats so far. Jake currently has the best ERA in the MLB right now with a 1.29 ERA. Jake has faced 236 batters this season and has struck out 63 of them giving him the 9th most strikeouts out of any starting pitcher in national league and a 26.7 strikeout percentage the 10th best out of any national league pitcher.

Jake also has pitched a total of 63 innings and has started in 9 games meaning that on average he pitches for 7 innings each game and he is really resilient and a strong iron horse starter and currently has an 8-0 record a perfect record and has managed to not lose a single game so far this season giving him just like his crosstown rival pitcher Chris sale a perfect 1.000 win percentage.

Jake also on average gets 9 strikeouts per 9 innings pitched and also on average only allows 0.29 home runs per 9 innings pitched as well and Jake has the second best WHIP (walks plus hits per 9 innings pitched) out of any national league player with a 0.84 WHIP so i think that the all star game is definitely calling Jake

Starting Catcher Jonathan Lucroy Milwaukee Brewers: okay as a lot of you may know Jonathan is known for his discipline behind the plate catching. Jonathan won the fielding bible award in 2014 for being the best defensive catcher in the MLB that season and he also made the all star team in 2014 and was the NL doubles champion in 2014 leading the NL with doubles with 53 doubles.

Now his heyday might of been two years ago but i think Jonathan has once again found his spark and here’s why.

right now Jonathan is the runs leader for all NL catchers with 24 runs. Jonathan also leads all NL catchers with total bases having 72 total bases. Jonathan also has a .341 on base percentage and Jonathan also has 8 doubles,1 triple and 1 stolen base and right now Jonathan has the highest ultimate base running value out of any NL catcher  according to fan graphs with a 1.3 Ultimate base running value.

Jonathan can also hit as well he has the second most home runs out of any 2016 national league catcher with 6 home runs. He is also tied with Wilson Ramos for third most hits out of any 2016 national league catcher with 44 hits. Jonathan also has 17 rbis and a .275 batting average (third best out of any 2016 NL catcher).

Jonathan is even quite a slugger with his .275 slugging percentage which is the best out of any NL catcher this season and if you combine his on base percentage and his slugging percentage you will get something called an on base plus slugging percentage which Jonathan has the highest out of any NL catcher with a .791 on base plus slugging percentage

Starting First Baseman Anthony Rizzo Chicago Cubs: Anthony Rizzo is the right starting first baseman for the right team and at the right time. as in he is part of the sensational 2016 Chicago cubs. i mean words cannot express the breathtaking performance of the miraculous 2016 cubs.

i mean they currently have the best percentage in baseball not just out of the NL central or the national league but out of all of baseball the cubs currently have a 31-14 record and a .689 win percentage and Anthony is definitely helping them keep there throne as the best team in baseball now.

currently Anthony has 11 home runs, 39 hits,35 RBIS and 29 runs and he is in the top 5 stat leader for NL first baseman for three of the aforementioned stats. he is NL first baseman stat leader for RBIS and runs and has the second most home runs out of any NL first baseman with 11 home runs right behind Milwaukee Brewers starting first baseman  Chris Carter.

The only stat he is not in the top leaders board for NL first baseman is hits he currently has the 9th most hits out of any national league first baseman with 39 hits.

Anthony is also a pretty good base runner as well he currently has the second most total bases out of any national league first baseman with 83 total bases. he is also at the moment currently tied with two other players at third place for the most doubles with 9 doubles and he has 1 triple as well and has 2 stolen bases to. his on base percentage isn’t to shabby either with it being .371 which is the third best out of any NL first baseman.

Anthony is definitely a star player his only two weaknesses are getting hits and his batting average definitely needs improvement with it being only .234 but he makes up for that with his amazing .497 slugging percentage. so i think it is safe to say this cub will make it to the all star game and fingers crossed the world series as well.

Starting Second Baseman Daniel Murphy Washington Nationals: Damn Daniel Back at it again with those MLB leading batting averages over .390. Ah good old Daniel Murphy AKA D-Rex or the Irish hammer or as i call him worst thing to happen to the cubs since Steve Bartman. You can call Daniel many things but one thing i am calling Daniel is NL all star teams starting second baseman.

this former NY Met is now in his 8th MLB season and his first season not with the Mets. Daniel is currently the nationals starting second baseman and probably the MLBs best hitter.

I mean right now he has a .394 batting average the highest in all of the MLB not just the NL. The second best batting average in the MLB is Ryan Brauns .361 batting average and Daniels batting average is still 33 points ahead of his. Daniel also has the most hits in the MLB with 69 hits. Daniel currently has had a 175 at bats this season and 69 hits meaning he gets a hit roughly every 2.5 at bats.

Daniel also has the 4th best slugging percentage in the MLB with a .617 slugging percentage. Daniel also has 7 home runs and 30 RBIS and 26 runs so when it comes to putting numbers on the scoreboard for the nationals Daniel is very reliable for the nationals.

Also Daniel is a very good base runner as well having a .426 on base percentage, 14 doubles and having the most total bases out of any national league player with  a 108 total bases. So hopefully once July comes around we will all be saying damn Daniel back at it again with being named the national league starting second baseman for the all star game

Starting Shortstop Trevor Story Colorado Rockies: I am going to tell u about a story the story of Trevor Story. Trevor story is a 23 year old MLB rookie playing for the Colorado Rockies. Trevor is having a good rookie season so far he is the nationals starting shortstop. But i know what you’re thinking a lot of MLB players were named starters there rookie season. But Trevor is different than any MLB rookie.

Trevor was not intended to be the Rockies starting shortstop. The Rockies 2015 starting shortstop Jose Reyes when he was suspended for the whole month of April by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred in February of 2016 for a domestic violence issue with his wife when the two of them were on vacation in Hawaii. During the Rockies 2016 spring training.

Trevor competed neck and neck with Rockies player Cristhian Adames for the role of starting shortstop for the 2016 MLB regular season. Trevor managed to bear out Cristhian for the role and was named starting shortstop for the Rockies for opening day.

Now what Trevor will be known for in 2016 was not his rookie season but his first week in the MLB.  on April 4th 2016 opening day for the Rockies.

Trevor managed to get his first MLB home run in just two at bats when he blasted a three run home run off Zack Greinke at diamondbacks home stadium chase field in Arizona. Trevor then managed to get a second home run that day as well getting his second MLB home run in just his third MLB at bat.

Trevor is one of only six players to hit two home runs in the MLB debut the last time the feat was accomplished was on august 7th 2010 when Toronto Blue Jays JP Arencibia rookie hit two home runs in first MLB game against the Tampa bay rays at rogers center in Toronto

But Trevor being the sixth MLB player to get two home runs in his MLB debut isn’t even the most impressive thing about his first week in the MLB. Trevor managed to get another home run in his second game being the third player in MLB history to get three home runs in his first two MLB games.

And just when u thought Trevor couldn’t get any better he got a two run home run in his third MLB game becoming the first MLB player in history to get a home run in each of his first three games and the first MLB player and the first MLB player to get a home run in each of his first 4 hits.

And in his 4th MLB game Trevor decided to be a show off and get another home run becoming not only the first MLB player to get a home run in each of his first 4 games in the MLB but also the first player in MLB history to hit six home runs in the first 4 games of a MLB season.

in the month of April alone Trevor managed to get 10 home runs tying him with former MLB first baseman and Boston Red Sox hall of Famer George Scott who managed to get 10 home runs in the month of April in his rookie season in 1966

Now sorry to go of on Trevor story but this guy is a legend either way just focusing on his total stats right now and not the ones in his first week in the MLB Trevor is more than qualified to make the all star game and be named the national league starting shortstop for the all star game i mean lets take a look at his stats so far this season

Trevor has the third most home runs in the national league and the most home runs out of any national league shortstop with 13 home runs. Trevor is also tied with hunter pence for the fifth most RBIS out of any national league player with 33 RBIS and Trevor also has the most RBIS out of any NL shortstop as well.

Trevor has had a 184 at bats so far this season and has managed to get 50 hits out of those 184 at bats meaning he gets a hit around every 3.68 at bats giving him a .272 batting average and he also has an impressive .587 slugging percentage which is the best out of any national league shortstop

Trevor is also a very good base runner having a .325 on base percentage,11 doubles, 4 triples, 3 stolen bases and he leading all NL shortstops in total bases with a 108 total bases and he is currently tied with Corey Seager for second most runs by an NL shortstop with 28 runs.

Trevor has definitely been one of the most talked about topics in the 2016 season with his historic first week in the MLB and i think it is safe to say when people ask for the story of the 2016 national league all star game roster Trevor story will definitely be a part of that story.

Starting third baseman Nolan Arenado Colorado Rockies: Okay right now Nolan is the neglected older child of the Colorado Rockies who all the attention is going to his baby brother (Trevor Story) who everyone in the family cant stop talking about and always want to see him first and never ask what hes been up to up with.

yup the #struggleisreal for Nolan Arenado. He has a lot of talent and could be viewed as the Rockies key player for the 2016 season but so much of the attention is on Trevor now.

But that doesn’t mean Nolan isn’t good and that he hasn’t had his spot in the limelight before. Hell last season he hit 42 home runs. 42 i mean its amazing he was tied with Bryce Harper for the third most home runs last season and he also had the most RBIS in the MLB in 2015 with a 130 RBIS.

Now Nolan does have a lot of raw talent that can be used at third base for the all star game. One thing i haven’t talked about today is fielding ability and since good fielding is so vital at third base with it being just 90 feet away from home plate he needs to be able to quickly get anyone out in the nick of time before they get to third or try and steal third.

Nolan has the highest fielding percentage out of any national league third baseman with a .993 fielding percentage. Nolan also has the most assists out of any national league third baseman with a 111 assists and Golan has the most total catches out of any national league third baseman.

But enough with fielding lets look at Nolan’s offensive stats. Nolan currently has the second most home runs in the national league with 14 home runs and the second most RBIS in the national league with 35 RBIS Nolan also has the third most runs in the national league with 33 runs and Nolan also has the 4th most total bases in the national league with a 102 total bases.

Nolan has had so far this season a 179 at bats and has 51 hits meaning he gets a roughly ever 3.5 at bats and he also as i mentioned before has 14 home runs and 14 out of 179 means he gets a home run roughly every 13 or 12.5 at bats.  Nolan also has a .285 batting average and a .570 slugging percentage both are in the top two stat leader spot out of any national league third baseman for both batting average and slugging percentage.

Nolan is somewhat of a good base runner having the most total bases out of any national league third baseman with a 102 total bases and he currently has a .355 on base percentage. Hopefully both Nolan and Trevor will be starters this year for the all star game.

It would be nice to see them both play but either way i have a feeling Nolan has already secured his spot as the starting third baseman for national league team in the 2016 all star game.

Starting Left Fielder Ryan Braun Milwaukee Brewers: What do McDonald’s hamburgers and Ryan Braun both have in common. They are both very popular and injected with growth hormones. okay enough with the jokes about Ryan’s steroids scandals.

Ryan is having a good season so far he is right behind Daniel Murphy in both batting average and slugging average with Ryan having the second best batting average in the national league with a .361 batting average and him being in third place in slugging having a .599 slugging percentage trailing once again right next to Daniel Murphy once again.

yup Ryan is doing pretty good so far.i mean he has had a 147 at bats this season and has gotten 53 hits meaning he gets a hit roughly every 2.7 at bats and he has as i mentioned 9 home runs so far this season and out of a 147 at bats. that means he gets a home run around every 15 at bats

Ryan also has the most RBIS out of any national league left fielder with 30 RBIS. Ryan also has the third most walks out of any national league third baseman as well with 17 walks.

Ryan also has 8 doubles and 3 stolen bases and 88 total bases which is the most out of any national league left fielder and he also has an astonishing .427 on base percentage and a marvelous 1.025 on base plus slugging percentage. so as long as they dont do any drug tests soon i think Ryan will make it

Starting Center Fielder Yoenis Cespedes New York Mets: Yoenis came close to getting a world series ring last year and this year he looks very close to making to starting NL center fielder for the all star game.  despite the fact that Yoenis didn’t get a world series ring he sure is playing like a world series player as in he is playing at his best.

Right now Yoenis is the MLB home run leader with 15 home runs. Yoenis 15 home runs are pretty impressive considering the fact that he has had a 153 at bats so far this season and 15 home runs out of a 153 at bats means he gets a home run every ten at bats.

Yoenis can also get some RBIS as well currently having 36 RBIS the third most in the MLB and the most in the national league. Yoenis also has 28 extra base hits this season which is the fourth most in the national league.

Yoenis also has a .301 batting average and a .660 slugging percentage which is the second best in baseball and the best in the national league. Yoenis also at the moment currently has 101 total bases and a .378 on base percentage and an even better 1.038 on base plus slugging percentage. At least with Yoenis at the all star game New York will have one good baseball player there (sighs).

starting right fielder Bryce Harper: okay just like with Mike Trout Bryce needs no introduction. Bryce had been going through a slump this month in may he went two weeks without a home run from may 13th to may 26th.

when people started to suspect Bryce was in a slump. so nationals manager dusty baker let him sit last Wednesdays game out. And that sure did pay off well because yesterday he hit a home run so spectacular i think that if there are baseball gods they were weeping.

i mean i cannot express how amazing this home was.During the sixth inning of yesterdays game against the cardinals at nationals stadium.

Bryce Harper hit a massive home run that was projected to be around 437 feet and a 107 MPH. This home run was the longest home run of the 2016 season and the best part was he hit this home run without any batting gloves on.

Bryce so far has 12 home runs tying him for the 5th most home runs in the national league. Bryce also has gotten 32 RBIS,35 hits and 29 runs. while Bryce stats may be lacking his usual best in baseball stats.

Like this season he has just a .245 batting average but he does have a .545 slugging percentage and he does have a .426 on base percentage which is the best out of any national league right fielder.

Now if last night monster home run isn’t an indication that Bryce is over his slump i don’t know what is. I think Bryce will really be able to catch up to his true talents in the month of June and by the all star game he will be significantly better and besides he is like the most famous MLB player right now and every baseball fan is going to vote him into starting right field for the all star game even if his stats are lagging.

The perfect national league all star team starting roster

the perfect american league all star team starting roster

okay hey everyone right now i am trying to bang out at least 25 articles in the next 30 days so i cant really give that much of a great opening paragraph so i want to jump right into it so without further adieu here is my version of the perfect american league all star team  starting roster in the the upcoming 2016 all star game on July 12th at Petco park (San Diego Padres home stadium) in San Diego California. so without further adieu here is my perfect american league all star team

Starting pitcher Chris Sale Chicago White Sox:  Chris is having an amazing season so far. And it looks like right now he may be on pace to have a better season then his last all star season in 2015 where he lead the american league in strikeouts and while he has made an appearance in the last 4 all star games i think this year he will get elected starting pitcher for the american league team and here is why.

Right now he has the best record in the american league with a 9-0 record. and he only appeared in 9 games starting all of them he won every game he started in which gives him a perfect 1.000 win percentage.

He also has also faced a total of 253 batters this season and has struck out 62 of them giving him a 24.5 strikeout percentage.  Chris has a spectacular ERA with a 1.58 earned run average which is the best out of any starting pitcher in the american league this season.

Now Chris also has a pretty good WHIP (i am not talking about a car) no WHIP stands for walks plus hits per inning pitched. Chris has the best WHIP out of any american league starting pitcher with a 0.72 WHIP so i think its safe to say Chris has a spot up there for the american league all star game starting pitcher

Starting Designated Hitter David Ortiz: As you all know it is David Ortiz farewell season and what better way to celebrate it then by voting to put him in the all star game this year. I mean this guy may be 40 but he sure isn’t saying i’m to old for this shit anytime soon.

I mean this guy is currently tied with 4 other players at 10 place for most home runs this season i mean the guy has 11 home runs and that’s not all he is currently tied with 7th other players for 21st place for most hits in the MLB with 50 hits.

he also has the second most rbis in the MLB this season with 37 rbis. hell he also has the 9th best batting average in baseball this season with a .329 batting average and he also has the best slugging percentage in all of baseball this season with a .684 slugging percentage. so i think that he may be one of the best 40 year old’s to play in an all star game if he gets selected. (which he most definitely well)

Starting Catcher Brian McCann New York Yankees: Brian is a 7 time all star but hasn’t made it to the all star game once since he started playing for the Yankees he came close to making the roster in 2015 but lost to Russell Martin.

Now i am not being biased when i choose him for starting catcher.  Everyone would think i would choose either Salvador Perez or Yan Gomes for starting catcher for the american league in the all star game but i am choosing Brian McCann and here is why

He has good hitting stats. So far he has 5 home runs and he has a .266 batting average which is the best out of all american league catchers this season. he also has 29 hits which is the third most out of any american league catcher.

he also has 17 rbis (also third most out of any american league catcher this season) Brian also has the highest slugging percentage for an american league catcher with a .440 slugging percentage and the highest on base percentage for an american league catcher with a .355 on base percentage

another reason i am choosing Brian is he is great behind the plate he currently has the second most put outs out of any american league catcher so far this season with 258 putouts and has 270 total catches and 12 assists and 3 double plays and is tied with Salvador Perez for the highest fielding percentage out of any american league catcher with a 1.000 fielding percentage

Starting First Baseman Eric Hosmer Kansas City Royals: okay last season Eric got himself a gold glove award and world series ring so he definitely had a good season last season. But Eric’s 2016 season is not to shabby.

Eric has currently 8 home runs. and 48 hits and 18 rbis and even 20 runs. He also has some very good batting stats currently having a .336 batting average and a.552 slugging percentage.

he is even a good base runner having a .399 on base percentage and a .951 on base plus slugging percentage, 83 total bases and 3 stolen bases. i think Eric is definitely a solid player and should be starting first baseman for the american league this year.

Starting second baseman Jose Altuve Houston Astros: okay Jose is once again proving to ladies all over the world that size doesn’t matter. i mean he is 5’5 and currently has the 4th most hits in baseball with 56 hits and this season he has 9 home runs and is definitely on pace to break his season record of 15 home runs in 2015.

Jose is also currently leading all second baseman in american league in runs with 38 runs and he also has the second most RBIS out of any american league second baseman with 26 rbis

what is most impressive about Jose is he has a .345 batting average which is not only the best out of any american league second baseman but the second best in the american league and the 6th best in the MLB. Jose also has the best slugging percentage out of any second baseman in the american league this season with a .612 slugging percentage and the third best slugging percentage out of any player in the American league this season

Now I’m sure as everyone knows Jose can get to third base faster than any of the Kardashians i mean this guy has the best on base percentage in the american league this season with a .433 on base percentage.

Jose is the stolen base stat leader so far this season with 15 stolen bases the most out of any player in the MLB. Jose is also the MLB doubles leader this season with 17 doubles. Jose also has the second most total bases reached so far this season with a 101 total bases. And Jose has the american league highest on base plus slugging percentage currently with a 1.045 on base plus slugging percentage

Starting shortstop Carlos Correa Houston Astros: Carlos is still red hot and cant be stopped from his amazing AL rookie of the year rookie season last year. And it looks as if he is going to finally get a spot on the all star team this year.

I mean currently Carlos has appeared in 42 games and has gotten a 162 plate appearances and currently has 43 hits,22 runs,20 RBIS and 7 home runs. He also can bat pretty well he has a .259 batting average which is the sixth best batting average out of any american league shortstop. he also has the 5th best slugging percentage out of any american league shortstop with a .428 slugging percentage.

Carlos can also get on base pretty well also Carlos currently has 8 stolen bases and 7 doubles and 71 total bases and he also has a very impressive .356 on base percentage and he also has a very good on base plus slugging percentage with a .784 slugging percentage. So i think its safe to say that the american league wont fall short if they pick this shortstop

Starting third baseman Manny Machado Baltimore orioles: Manny is looking like he will repeat his 2015 all star season talent. I was actually in a three way tie (closest i will get to having a three way probably for a while) with Manny Machado,Todd Frazier and josh Donaldson. But i chose Manny and here is why

Manny is just 23 years old and so far he has been putting up some big stats. so far he has the second most home runs out of any american league third baseman this season with 11 home runs.

He also has the most hits out of any american league third baseman this season with 51 hits. Manny also has 25 rbis and he also has the second most runs out of any american league third baseman this season with 30 runs.

Manny can also hit i mean this guy has a .323 batting average and a .640 slugging percentage. Manny can also get on base pretty well also he has the most doubles out of any third baseman in the american league this year with 16 doubles and a 105 total bases and he also currently has a .383 on base percentage. so i think it is safe to say this Manny will be the man to play third base for the AL all star team this year

Starting left fielder Micheal Saunders Toronto Blue Jays: This Canadian born player is currently one of the 5 Canadian players on Canada’s only mlb team the blue jays. and it looks like he might just be the best active MLB player from canada. I mean when it comes to left field this dude is killing it i mean lets take a look at some of his stats.

Micheal currently has 8 home runs which ties him at second with Colby Rasmus for the most home runs by an american league left fielder in 2016. Micheal also has the second most hits out of any American League left fielder this season with 46 hits.

Micheal is also tied with Melky Cabrera for the 5 most rbis by an american league left fielder this season with 15 rbis. Micheal also has 22 runs tied with 2 other players for second most runs by a left fielder in the american league this season.

Micheal can also hit pretty well i mean he has the best batting average out of any american league left fielder this season with a .315 batting average and he also has the best slugging percentage out of an american league left fielder this season with a .562 slugging percentage.

Micheal base running ability is also not to shabby either. right now he has a .379 on base percentage and a .941 on base plus slugging percentage and he also has 10 doubles and 82 stolen bases.

Starting centerfielder Mike Trout Los Angeles Angeles: okay we all knew that he was an obvious no brainer for centerfield i mean he has been named the all star game mvp for the last two games. Right now this guy has 10 home runs, 51 hits,31 rbis and 29 runs but thats not all.

Mike also has a .323 batting average and a .576 slugging percentage and he also has a .986 on base plus slugging percentage and a .410 on base percentage and 91 total bases. i know i might not have used many words to describe mikes playing ability but words cannot simply express it either

Starting Right Fielder Mark Trumbo Baltimore orioles: Mark right now is really adjusting well to the move to baltimore from Seattle. he currently has the most home runs out of any american league right fielder with 13 home runs.He also has the third most hits out of any american league right fielder with 48 hits.

he also has the third most rbis out of any ameircan league right fielder with 31 rbis. Mark also has the second best batting average out of any american league right fielder with a .306 batting average and he also has the highest slugging percentage out of any american league right fielder with a .588 slugging percentage

Mark is also a pretty good base runner while he is not the best because there are a lot of really good base runners that are american league right fielders he is still pretty good. he has a .353 on base percentage which is the sixth best out of any american league Right fielder this season.

he also has the best on base plus slugging percentage out of any american league right fielder with a .940 on base slugging percentage. mark also has 94 total bases the second most out of any american league right fielder this season

I think the american league will make the right decision by selecting right fielder Mark Trumbo

the perfect american league all star team starting roster

Team Teixeira or Team Beltran who will get to 400 first.

okay two of the greatest switch hitters of all time are currently playing for the Yankees and both of them are in the top 10 category for most home runs by a switch hitter and both of them are currently in a race to get to 400 home runs and join the ranks of the other 3 switch hitters to get 400 home runs Chipper Jones,Eddie Murray and Mickey Mantle. Mark is currently 3 home runs away from 400 with 397 home runs and Beltran is just 1 homer away from 400 with 399.

its a neck and neck race and its always better when both players are on the same team. right now Beltran is just 1 homer away but if Teixeira can make it back to the roster soon can he catch up. can Teixeira pull a cliche underdog sports story where he gets the 400th home run. while this is no mickey mantle/roger Maris home run chase its still pretty damn good and i cant wait to see the results of it so without further adieu here is my take on the 400 home run chase

Mark Teixeira MLB career overview

okay mark is my current favorite Yankee and has been since 2009 and i have been on #teamTeixeira way before it was cool. And mark is definitely underrated compared to Beltran and also gets overlooked but Carlos has played in the MLB 5 more years than mark with this being his 14th MLB season and this being Carlos 19th. mark is also younger than Carlos but just by three years with mark being 36 and Carlos being 39. but i would like to dive into marks overall career stats/achievements

Marks early life and rise to baseball stardom

Mark was born in 1980 in Baltimore Maryland where he attended mount saint Joseph high school in Baltimore and was a star player for his high school baseball team. he then played baseball for Georgia tech and won the dick however trophy in 2000 (the Dick Howser trophy is the college baseball equivalent of the Heisman award)

mark then started playing in the MLB in 2003 for the Texas rangers and spent 5 seasons with the rangers from 2003 to 2007. mark would then go on to play for the Atlanta braves getting traded to them halfway into the 2007 MLB season and stayed there until halfway through the 2008 season when he was once again traded in July this time to the Los Angeles angels. and then in December of 2008 he got signed to the Yankees for a 8 year 180 million dollar contract.

Marks MLB career accomplishments and awards

: Mark has made it to the all star game three times in his career once in 2005,once in 2009 and most recently in 2015. Mark is also a 5 time gold glove award winner. (winning them in 2005,2006,2009,2010 and 2012). Mark has also managed to win the silver slugger award three times as well ( 2004,2005 and 2009). Mark was also the 2009 AL home run leader getting 39 home runs and the 2009 AL RBI leader as well getting a 122 RBIS and he got a world series ring in 2009 and holds the all time MLB record with most RBIS in a single season by a switch hitter getting a 144 RBIS in 2005.

Marks career home run statistics

mark currently as i mentioned before has 397 home runs in his 14th year career averaging 36 home runs per season and getting his most home runs in 2005 with 43 home runs and currently has 3 home runs this season. Mark has had 6653 career at bats and 397 home runs. giving him a  16.76 at per home run percentage. this season he currently has 3 home runs. which gives him unfortunately a 34.97 home run per at bat percentage.

however give mark hope because keep in mind he is 45th all time for at bats per home run percentage And in marks 14th season career 9 of those seasons he had over 30 home runs. and has always been a productive home run hitter except for 2013 when he only managed get 3 due to the fact that he missed most of the season due to a strained wrist. mark did have a little bit of a dip in productivity in 2014 only getting 22 home runs but experienced a spark once again in 2015 getting 31 home runs but only playing in a 111 games.

Marks MLB Career batting average statistics

So far marks batting average is facing a dip in productivity  and Mark so far has a 202 batting average so far into the 2016 season. Carlos Beltran MLB career highlights and summaries

Carlos Beltran: Okay Carlos is definitely a more household name than Teixieira is. I also think Carlos also has a slight chance of making it into the hall of fame. now carols has played for many teams such as the Kansas City Royals, the Houston Astros, the New York Mets, the St Louis cardinals and currently the New York Yankees. Carlos is currently just one home run away from reaching the 400 home run mark.

Carlos single season home run average is 28 home runs per season. Carlos got his most home runs in 2006 with the Mets as i mentioned before.

Carlos  got his most home runs in the 2006 season with the Mets getting 41 home runs. Carlos has even managed to get over 30 home runs in a season 4 times in his 19 year career and Carlos has gotten more than 25 home runs in 8 out of his 19 season career so fat

Carlos has always had a pretty good batting average 16 out of his 19 MLB seasons he had a batting average over .260 and Carlos even had 4 seasons where he had a batting average over .300 his highest batting average was in 2009 with the new york mets where he managed to get a .325 batting average

Carlos slugging average summary

So far now Carlos has managed to maintain a .461 slugging percentage for this season which is once again much better than marks .298 current slugging percentage. Carlos has a .490 career and season average slugging percentage and Carlos highest season slugging percentage was in 2006 with a .594 slugging percentage that season.

Marks Advantages over Carlos

the one area that mark is no doubt a better player than Beltran is home runs. For example Carlos has had 8868 career at bats and 399 home runs giving him a 22.27 career at bat per home run percentage meaning Carlos will get a home run around every 22 at bats. now mark has had 6653 career at bats that is 2,215 less at bats then Carlos has gotten so far.

Now mark has gotten 397 home runs with 6653 at bats. that equals to 16.75 at bats per home run. meaning he will get a home run roughly every 16 to 17 at bats while Carlos on the other hand will get a home run roughly every 22 at bats. Now marks season average home run record is 36 home runs so on average he will get around 36 home runs a season while Carlos will on average get around 28 home runs a season meaning mark will usually get around 8 more home runs than Beltran.

Also statistically wise mark will usually put up more home runs than Carlos will. in marks 14 MLB seasons 9 of those seasons he put up more than 30 home runs that season his highest home run season was in 2005 when he got 43 home runs. Now in Carlos 19 MLB seasons he only managed to get over 30 home runs 4 times and his most home runs in a season where in 2006 with the New York Mets when he got 41 home runs that season.

So there is absolutely  no question that mark is the better home run hitter but keep in mind Carlos has played in 5 more seasons than Mark has and has gotten more at bats and recently has been getting more at bats such as this season Carlos key advantage when it came to getting home runs is that he has gotten more at bats than him getting 15 more and the fact that Carlos has managed to stay healthy.

Carlos Advantages over Mark

several things that makes Carlos better than mark is hitting. Carlos is without a doubt the better hitter out of the two. Carlos has 2,485 career hits while Mark has 1,804 career hits meaning Carlos has 681 more hits than mark. And Carlos season hit average is 172 hits while mark on average will get 165 hits i know its just 7 more but still if you look at it he still is the better hitter.

While Mark and Carlos are both tied for there season hit record with a 194 hits. Carlos also has had 10 seasons with a 150 hits or more mark has 7 seasons with 150 hits or more. Carlos also has a much better batting average than Mark with a career and season average .280 batting average.

out of Carlos 19 MLB seasons 17 of them he had a batting average over 250 and Carlos has even had 3 seasons where he had a batting average over 300 his highest season batting average was in 2009 with the Mets when he got a .325 season batting average mark has gotten a batting average over .250 10 times in his career but on average Carlos will put up the better batting average

Who will win?

now the major question is can Teixeira catch up or will Beltran clinch it. well as we know Carlos has been hot recently. recently with 7 home runs already and only a 119 at bats meaning he gets a home run roughly every 17 at bats. Mark on the other hand has a 34 at bat per home run this season. we should also keep in mind that Beltran has gotten more at bats. Without a doubt Mark is Definitely the better home run hitter out of the two but he doesn’t have time on his side as in Beltran gets more at bats despite the fact that Teixeira is usually ahead of him in the order.

the one thing that is hurting Teixeira is his injuries specifically his neck spasms. now hopefully he can return for Thursdays game the last game of the three game home series against the royals at Yankee stadium. Now if Beltran manages to not score withing the next week. it might be a long shot with Teixeira being 3 home runs away and Beltran just one away and having a hot streak now.

Now if Beltran can not get a home run within in the next week Teixeira could have a  small chance of catching up. Teixeira number one hope at the moment is getting more at bats than Beltran within in the next 7 days. I am not reaching for him to get three home runs but if he ties it that will even the playing field . that is marks only hope really getting more at bats and his chances are slim to none but i hate to say it but it looks like Beltran will get.

Now mark has always gone through a slump in April but there have been times when he has gotten better and had a series of home runs within 10 days apart. Now all we can hope for mark is that he gets more at bats then Beltran and he Doesn’t have any health problems and that he manages to face right handed pitchers (290 of his 397 home runs he got from right handed pitchers) the most during the next 10 days. its a long shot but you can always hope

since Mark hasn’t gotten a home runs since April 13th his chances of getting to 400 before Beltran are slim to non and another key factor that is and has held mark back from reaching his full playing potential is that he is known to being injury prone like with the recent neck spasms and is in a slump so unfortunately it looks like Beltran will reach the 400 home run mark before him.

However i do think mark will definitely get more total career home runs than Beltran with 2016 being his last season with the Yankees and possibly his last MLB season as he is pushing 40 right now

So i have always been #teamTeixiera but it looks like #teamBeltran fans will be happy. but either way whoever reaches 400 first you know the other player will be the first to congratulate them

Team Teixeira or Team Beltran who will get to 400 first.

the fall of the evil empire how the yankees death star got shot down

yes i know three days ago was national star wars day. but i am not talking about the galactic empire the one in the 1980 stars wars movie the empire strikes back. i am talking about a different empire a one that is not in a galaxy far far away and this empire wasn’t a long time ago this empire was in the Bronx and they were called the New York Yankees and they became known as the evil empire

the Yankees earned that nickname in 2002 when Boston Red Sox president  Larry Lucchino said after they signed Cuban pitcher and Cuban defector Jose Contre to a 32 million 4 year contract after the Red Sox had been in heavy pursuit of getting him. out of anger Larry criticized there high payroll and how they can buy all the best players and make a much bigger offer to get there.

now the Yankees evil empire was the most feared empire in baseball with players such as Derek Jeter,Jorge Posada,Hideki Matsui,Alex Rodriguez,Mariano Rivera,Andy Pettite and Mike Mussina. from 2003 to 2012 they only missed the playoffs once in 2008. then since 2013 the Yankees have struggled to make it to the postseason and are heading into probably one of there biggest downfalls in the teams history

okay i am a die hard Yankees fan always have been and always will be i watch every game and i bleed pinstripes. so i am not talking trash about them. but i am embarrassed to see what once was the biggest dynasty in baseball fall so behind. after Mariano retired in 2013 and Jeter retiring the next year. the Yankees have gone into a big downfall as of i would say since 2013 with poor trades and signings and a bad management staff the team has come into a down fall and i would like to address some of the recent events that the Yankees are doing bad

1. batting average: okay the Yankees best player is hitting there best starting hitter is Starlin Castro and even he just has a .300 batting average. and the other Yankees players have embarrassingly low batting averages Brian McCann batting average is .269, Carlos Beltran batting average is .261, both Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardners batting average is .241. and Mark Texieria batting average is just .217. And Alex Rodrgiuez batting average isn’t even over 200 this year it is .194 and Chase Headley has the lowest batting average out of all the starters with a .147 batting average and there teams total batting average stat is 17 out of all 30 MLB teams

2. hitting: the Yankees have a team total of of a 186 total hits. that is number 29 on the MLB team hit list right next to Tampa bay giving them the aforementioned .234 batting average there best hitter is Starlin Castro and he has only 27 hits. he is ranked as number 60 for most hits in the MLB

3.home runs: the Yankees only have a team total of 23 home runs this year with Alex Rodriguez having the most with just 5 home runs. and they rank 21 on the mlb total team hit list

3.base running: the Yankees have a .308 team on base percentage this is definitely one of there better fields. there best base runner is Brian McCann with a .381 on base percentage and has the 34th best on base percentage in the MLB. The Yankees are second to last with the least total bases this year having only 300 total bases.

the Yankees newest player Starlin Castro has the most total bases with 43 total bases and Carlos Beltran close by behind with 40 total bases and neither of them are in the top 50 total base leaders. however they do have a really good amount of stolen bases with 19 total team stolen bases. giving them the 7 most stolen bases out of any MLB team and Jacoby Ellsbury is tied at 4th most stolen bases with 7 stolen bases.

4.scoring: the Yankees as i mentioned before have a 21st place team total home run record with 23 home runs and are ranked 29th in runs with just 89 runs and once again 29th ranked this time for RBI’S with a team total of just 83 runs. now on average the Yankees get 1 home run per every 36 at bats which puts them in top 20 rankings for something and the Yankees are ranked at 22 with hits per game with 7.84 hits per game. and on average they only allow 4 runners left in scoring position per game

5.pitching: with the exception of there spectacular bullpen the Yankees do not have good starting pitching at all. they have a 4.54 team ERA and has only pitched a total of 218 innings the second worst in the MLB right next to the Indians. the Yankees do have a descent number of strikeouts being smack dab in the middle of total team strikeouts with 221 strikeouts the 15th most out of any  team. the Yankees have only played in 25 games and they have won only 9 games giving them a .360 winning percentage. the Yankees haven’t even pitched a complete game and there pitching has only gotten 12 quality starts so far. the Yankees also have a descent WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched) with a 1.30 WHIP the 14th highest in baseball.

6.Fielding: the Yankees may have some descent fielders with Aaron hicks having probably one of the best fielding arms in baseball. despite the team has the second lowest number of put outs right next to the Indians with 654 putouts, the Yankees also are number 23 in assists with only 244 assists. the Yankees once again have the second lowest fielding stat right next to Cleveland with only getting 913 total fielding catches so far this season

7.front office signing problems: The Yankees have been known to get the oldest washed up players that were really good in the past or are okay right now and then give them a 6 year 140 million dollar contract and then they either get injured and most like the whole season or barely get more than two home runs. one major example is Carlos Beltran

in the 2013 off season the Yankees signed st Louis cardinals outfielder and hitting phenom Carlos Beltran to a three year 45 million dollar contract. However despite the fact that he is an amazing player they signed him when he was 36. he was past his prime and they knowingly got him mainly to put a body in the outfield and to get the publicity. they knew that a player being a starter at the the age of 36 was a bad decision and they knew he would most likely get injured and he did and his numbers are nowhere near as good as they used to be.

8.injuries: within the past three seasons from 2013 to the current 2016 season the Yankees have been plagued with injuries. the main problems are some of the Yankees key players get injured in the season and are out for a significant amount of time.

for example Yankees first baseman (and my favorite baseball player) Mark Teixeria has spent a significant time on the DL since 2013. in march of 2013 mark got a strained wrist tendon while playing for team USA in the world baseball classic and that kept him out for pretty much all of the season only playing in 15 games that season and once again in 2014 he aggravated his strained wrist and that once again limited his season only playing in 123 games.

now mark was a really good path in 2015 hitting 31 home runs and making it to the all star game for the first time since 2009. but in early august he once again he got a leg injury on august 17th which caused him to miss the rest of the season

and another great example is pitcher Masahiro Tanaka. Masahiro has the potential to be a star player like in 2013 he had a 13-5 record,an amazing 2.77 era and a 141 strikeouts. but Tanaka suffers from right elbow inflammation and was on the DL from July 8th to September 21st and once again in 2015 he had a very good season in 2015 getting a 12-7 record, and a 3.51 era and a 139 strikeouts but he was put on the DL on April 28th of 2015 and returned back on June 3rd

9.attendance decline: unfortunately the Yankees have became the least recognized team i mean the Mets are now significantly more popular than the Yankees. there is now becoming an epidemic where TV views and attendance are down. the once amazing dynasty is falling and its going to keep on falling. after Jeter left in 2014 they lost that iconic player and the iconic symbol of the team.

they have became the Cleveland Indians of the hit movie major league staring Charlie Sheen and Wesley Snipes. i mean hell the nationals get more publicity than them. the nationals. when it comes to losing the Yankees have become numb to this. what happened to greatness okay goddammit the Yankees are the greatest baseball franchise in the world and look at them now huh look at them there best hitter Starlin Castro only has 29 hits so far 29. i mean the roster is now so old and past its prime that basically every game is old timers day.

and you know what is sad is how far down the Yankees attendance has declined. in 2015 the Yankees had there lowest season stadium attendance in 15. they only averaged about 39,430 thousand fans a game in attendance and they had only a 3,193,795 total season attendance. ever since 2013 there attendance has gone down significantly. starting in 2013 when they only had a 3,401,624 stadium yearly attendance total and they also had a game attendance total of 40,489 fans per game. they did have a slightly small rise in attendance in 2014 but that was mainly because it was Derek Jeters farewell season for the Yankees

10. No iconic team player: okay the Yankees have always been known for greatness and from 1995 to 2014 Derek Jeter was the Yankees iconic player the captain,MR November and captain clutch. he was there iconic and team player who became the heart and soul of the New York Yankees. he help lead the Yankees to 5 world series wins during his time in pinstripes, he made it to the all star game 14 times in his 20 seasons with the Yankees. he was also a time gold glove award winner and a 5 time Roberto Clemente award winner.

Derek had many iconic moments with the Yankees. such as getting the most hits out of any Yankee player for the Yankees (3465) and Derek has the most hits out of any shortstop in MLB history. and under those 20 seasons under Jeter the Yankees made it to the world series 7 times and won it 5 times. and all the key times where the Yankees were winning world series and doing there best they had a player who would not only spend there whole career with the Yankees but become the heart and soul of them. starting with Lou Gehrig and then to Joe DiMaggio,to Mickey Mantle,to Thurman Munson,to Ron Guidry,Don Mattingly,to Bernie Williams,Jorge Posada,Mariano Rivera and ending with Derek Jeter.

yes since Lou Gehrig joined the Yankees in 1923 they have had many amazing players team captains and hall of famers the Yankees have always relied on that all star career player who helped the team win and helped make the team the Yankees. because while most people cant Be MLB players and a very distinct few can earn the honor of putting on pinstripes and say i thank god each day for making them a Yankee the Yankees

Closing note:the Yankees are the greatest team in baseball history and every baseball fan around the world know and honor and respect them. and to have them right now have a 10-17 record and be in last place in the AL east and having arguably the worst hitting in baseball right now the Yankees have come a long way from being the feared team they once were and i hope in 2016 the Evil Empire will be reborn

the fall of the evil empire how the yankees death star got shot down
